PCDS was established to address the need for accessible and cost-effective Point Cloud data for anyone seeking fast and accurate measured information. While 3D scanning has been utilized in larger and more complex buildings, we believe that point cloud data should be standard in construction rather than the exception.

The construction industry, in comparison to other major industries, has been slow to embrace the digital age. However, in a society where sustainability is crucial, we should strive to reduce waste and increase efficiency. What better way to achieve this in construction than by having an accurate understanding of the sites to be developed? Whether it's the topography of bare land or existing buildings, having three-dimensional digital information that provides almost all the necessary spatial data at our fingertips would be invaluable.

We believe that accurate and fast Point Cloud data is cost-effective when compared to traditional 2D surveying methods, which are more prone to errors that could lead to expensive design changes and construction delays. Another significant feature of a point cloud model is the ability not only to investigate the existing site as a 3D model, section, or elevation at various user-defined locations but also to take measurements and view 3D photographic information.
